Google I/O videos available

Google I/O and JavaOne are finally over and it’s a good thing, because after 5 sessions and 1 keynote, I was getting a bit tired :) The good news for you is that all of the Android sessions we gave at Google I/O are available online. You can watch the entire video recording of each session and download the slides as PDF files. The JavaOne sessions will probably be posted online later this summer.

Enjoy!

  1. Thank you a lot for all these sessions. It was very interesting. Some of theses talks/tips was quite obvious for me but it seems it isn’t for some people…
I loved seeing charts in your keynote: it directly show the impact on perfomances!
    Thank you again

  2. Sorry but comment editing seems impossible :s. Speaking about benchmark, I would like to know how you measure it?
During your main keynote you showed a line in DDMS giving the amount of time spent to draw a frame. Do you use it to estimate the fps of your application or do you use another technique (incrementing a counter in the onDraw(Canvas) or draw() methods for instance)?

There are flags that can be activated in the source code of the platform to output real-time information about the drawing and layout performance.

  4. I really enjoyed video, you kept the listeners focused and entertained :) Please publish another book, your “Filthy Clients” needs a brother.

Romain, thanks for the excellent presentations. I attended the Turbo-charge your UI session and really enjoyed it(minus sitting on the floor because of the full house).
